Re: indoor air temp sensor

Is there any existing plugins for the ESP8266? I have a tone of sensors, switches etc setup working with another inferior home automation tool, it would be good to get migrate them to EG.

Re: Amazon Echo Skill EchoToEventGhost

Fair comment, you would think getting the command to come in would be the hard part! :D Is your Windows firewall definitely not restricting the returned message? Also, I don't have authentication enabled like you do in the screenshot. I would try disabling it and see if that fixes it. I don't recomm...

Re: Amazon Echo Skill EchoToEventGhost

hi, let's figure it out. have you opened the webserver port on your router? Can you confirm you added the index file for your EG webserver? If yes to both, try changing the port number. I had issues with port 80, im not sure if it was my router or my ISP, but with port 80 being the standard port for...

Re: Amazon Echo Skill EchoToEventGhost

Hi guys,

Forked, updated and tutorial written. It turned into much more of a in depth monster than I realised it was going to be!! Honestly it was one of those, "I've started, some I'm damn well gonna finish" situations.

Hope it helps someone :D

Re: Amazon Echo Skill EchoToEventGhost

Ta K, that's enough guidance. I'll get on it :)

There may also a way I could configure it to work with the smart home skill, this would address the issues with option 3. If this becomes a popular request I'll consider updating it. Personally I'm happy with it... for now :D

lolz, i remember all too well! MS are terrible for having a great idea, releasing something that is 20% of the initial idea and then abandoning the project 2 years later when unsurprisingly unsuccessful :o

at least they are willing to gamble, unlike some... apple?

Re: controlling multiple programs from single remote

There are probably many ways to achieve this. I do it by using dedicated buttons on the remote which triggers the enable and disable action on groups of functions (in folders) relating to the device/program you are trying to control. In the image below I have 4 modes, plex, kodi, screensaver and Spo...
