but I cannot control kodi from the same machine that I am on..
Lets start with the basics (I finally) added a FAQ Q: How to configure Kodi/XBMC to be controlled by the XBMC2 plugin to the first post.

Check that you have the settings correct in Kodi.

Re: ProcessWatcher

Is there any way I can use this to collect diagnostic information? I would like to only see events when some process throws an error. I think it might be quicker to troubleshoot this way. I didn't come across any diagnostic related stuff but that was not my focus so can't help with that. I know som...

I´ve downloaded the plugin from here: https://github.com/EventGhost/EventGhos ... XBMCRepeat, placing both files in plugins/XBMCRepeat
You need to download the "Raw" version of the file or you will get a HTML formatted file that wont work.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

OK thanks, I have a working solution now using a script Great I was reading the other day that v18 of Kodi changes the way JSON requests are done, will this affect this plugin ? The plugin uses HTTP POST and the Kodi change seems to effect HTTP GET only so should be fine. The update in development ...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

I have a request to add currentwindow and currentcontrol events to this plugin. The plugin only supports events created by Kodi, so there is no support for custom events. So any events added to Kodi will be supported in the plugin. You could try and make suggestions for new events here (Kodi forum)...

Re: Antispam

I'm all for better anti-spam, as long as it doesn't block legitimate users.

And $8 a year don't seem too bad, but I'm not handling the finances.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

When I hit Test I get: JSON-RPC connected JSON-RPC closed JSON-RPC works. Good XBMC2 plugin 0.6.19 Update the plugin to 0.6.35 here and see if that helps. I might not reply for a couple of days over Christmas. edit: Just to verify you have the "Log only assigned and activated events" unchecked? as ...

If I try to edit the action EG freezes solid. I am at my wits end with this one. I searched google, but couldn't find really anything that helped much. Any insight will be helpful.
I'm assuming you have an old version of the plugin, try updating to this version.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

Any ideas? To get events from Kodi/XBMC you need to activate "JSON-RPC notifications" in the XBMC2 plugins settings. You also need to activate some stuff in Kodi settings, "Services->UPnP->Allow control of Kodi via UPnP" needs to be activated so the XBMC2 plugin detects when Kodi is starting. You m...

Re: Help With Broadcaster

I should hope not, and I hope you are talking about the mac address of the listening pc, cuz I used both my android and iOS phones for the testing, and they each have their individual mac addresses. Yes the listening PCs MAC address, this is hard coded in the plugin: 34:E6:AD:0E:43:13 I assume this...

@kgschlosser

If I'm reading the code correctly it's hard coded to enobhsiw MAC address, so it would only work for him.

Re: Help With Broadcaster

I might be a little late with this. @kgschlosser The Wake-on-LAN magic packet is not XBMC/Kodi (or even Kogi  ) specific, and there is even a command in EventGhost to send this packet (System->Wake on LAN). If you know this , ignore me, but it just seems you are making it harder then it should ...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

Thank you for your time :) I moved your post here as it's not Kodi specific so other people can help. So you are trying to start Kodi on a running system when sending the "WakeOnLan" magic packet from another device (your iPhone). The Broadcaster plugin might be able to create an event from the Wak...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

Will ask for help for the rest if I run into any trouble. Good Thanks to you I finally looked into using WakeOnLan for my HTPC, and got it working when in sleep mode. Now I can have it go to sleep and be able to wake it up when I need to do some testing when I'm developing the XBMC2 plugin, cool 8)...

Re: Help With Broadcaster

the problem you are having is with XBMC Event Receiver and not the broadcaster. and a WOL packet is something that is handled at the hardware level and not at the software level. I would put a support ticket in the official XBMC Support thread located here http://www.eventghost.net/forum/viewtopic....
