Re: EventGhost as a service

The only reason I could think of EG being beneficial as a service is so that multiple profiles could communicate to the same Eventghost session. Think bigger... Some of us have a decicated EvengGhost PC in the basement (in my case it's running virtual on my server). It would be quite nice if the EG...

If you don't want the variable to be persistent, don't set it with pVar...!

just set eg.globals.varname = value, then pVar won't save it.

Re: Persistent variables?

I've made a first version of a plugin called pVar. (persistent variables) Works like this: You can set a variable in two ways. * Use the action SetGlobalsVar and enter your variable name and value * In a python script, use eg.plugins.pVar.SetGlobalsVar('varname', value) This will set eg.globals.varn...

Persistent variables?

Sometimes when using variables to store a state of something, I would like that variable to be persistent between EG sessions. I don't want to loose the state just because of an EG restart... So let's say I have set the variable eg.globals.LightsON = True, is there a way to store that value on EG ex...

Re: Save config action

I found something called eg.config.Save(), but that doesn't seems to do the trick...

How do I check what the save button does...?

Save config action

Why not add an action called "Save EG Config" to the EG config tree.

That way, everyone can have their own way of autosaving the EG config...

In my case, I would make a timer that triggers a config save some time before my nightly backup job starts.

Re: Twilight: sunrise/sunset and dusk/dawn plugin.

I totally agree with arturmaj, an offset function would be great...! My problem is that when the sunrise event triggers, it's still kind of dark inside my house so I wouldn't mind the lights being on for half an hour longer in the morning... Maybe 2 or 3 configurable offsets that could trigger event...

EventGhost as a service

Are there any plans of splitting EG into a windows service and a front-end application only to be used when making config changes or monitoring?
