Re: Marantz/Denon Plugin Development

Hmmm. Even after waiting a very long time, it never connected. I finally had to pull the plug on the receiver and after plugging it back in, the connection took. The good news is that the responses/events are now coming out in a timely manner and proper order. There are many, many unknown events, pr...

Re: Marantz/Denon Plugin Development

I suspect you're very close, but looks like similar problem to earlier: AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'send' Marantz Echo Server Started Plugin: Marantz AVR Serial/TCP/Forwarding Marantz AVR Serial/TCP/Forwarding: Master Power Status Error in Action: "Marantz AVR Serial/TCP/Forw...

Re: Marantz/Denon Plugin Development

Looks like the connect/disconnect is working better in this version. I had no problems with closing/opening EG. Here are those MIA log files. It appears that the responses are spitting out, just way... later. The commands are being executing when they're issued, it's just the response/event that's h...

Re: Denon & Marantz Network Control Plugin

No log file in the ProgramData folder. Didn't change default of Debug = TRUE in the __init__.py file. Capture.PNG Still had issue with socket connection after disabling plug-in, closing EG, restarting, then enabling plug-in. Was able to connect after 3 disable/enable cycles: 16:08:46 Marantz Echo Se...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

Sorry for the delay; got busy with something else. Only tested a minority of commands, but looks like the same problem with responses/events. Starting out 'fresh', everything works pretty well, but before very long, the responses/events don't match the last command. I probably need to try setting up...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

the 6300 is not the top... there is one above it... The "one above it", the AVR-X7200WA, is actually an older model. It came out a couple of years ago but is still being sold. The current batch of receivers have a 3 as the second number in the model name. 2 is the previous generation. The file you ...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

that is not the case... seriously download the AIP for the higher model denon.. you will see more commands in there... And that's what I posted, the file for the AVR-X6300H, not one that is 'very old'. The Denon and Marantz control protocol is the same, word for word. The only difference is which c...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

AFAIK, the spreadsheets cover all of the current models at the time they are published. Which commands apply to each model are covered in the columns on the far right of the Command tab. With that many commands there are bound to be a few differences between Denon and Marantz, but not many. The curr...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

There are several Marantz and Denon plug-ins. The problem I've had with them is that they don't generate any/many events and/or they stop responding (presumably due to the one telnet connection at a time limitation). This plug-in is nice because it generates lots of events. I've modified it slightl...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

turn on the time stamps for the log and copy and select the log entries and paste them Thanks for the tip. That does make it easier to capture. I also wanted to make sure you know this... even tho the plugin has the automatically created commands. there are config dialogs for them. not like the old...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

I don't think I described the problem well enough. I understand that the AVR can generate many events from a single action and that they may spit out at any time, and the power of events to trigger other actions. What I'm observing is a VERY LONG time between a command and its response. For example,...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

I've just barely scratched the surface, but wanted to give you what limited feedback I have. You probably already know about most of this. Receiver changes volume in 0.5 dB increments, so 47.5 generates an "Unknown message, 'MV475'", whereas 47 gives an expected event. "Unknown message, 'MVMAX 98'" ...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

what's odd is the things you show in the screen shot have absolutely nothing to do with the plugin. i just skimmed it really fast but none of the events look anything like the data in the API. there are no commands or responses that begin with SS or OP. did you happen to have the android app connec...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

OK, doubleplusgood. PC3 is able to connect to PC1 and PC2 (with Echo Server enabled). All events appear to be mirrored, without any noticable lag. There are a bunch of events that keep repeating, even when nothing is happening. Capture21.JPG That probably needs to be controlled somehow. The Android ...

Re: New Marantz TCP Control Plugin

VERY cool. Installed on PC1; ticked EchoServer. Everything appeared to be working fine. Installed on PC2 and configured for IP of PC1. Again, everything worked fine. Duplicate events appearing on both PCs and both able to send commands. I'll PM you the IP so you can see for yourself and check for UP...
