Re: TCPEvents : A better Network Event Receiver/Sender plugi

Hi, please try with this modified version of the plugin: https://github.com/per1234/TCPEvents/files/966108/TCPEvents-issue_6.zip This was a quick fix for the issue described here: https://github.com/per1234/TCPEvents/issues/6 Unfortunately it will cause the Send Data and Request Data actions of TCPE...

Re: TCPEvents : A better Network Event Receiver/Sender plugi

OK, the problem is that you're using the Android App. Unauthenticated operation is only supported when you are sending/receiving events from TCPEvents to TCPEvents. The unauthenticated feature is something I added specially to my version of the plugin. No other EventGhost plugin or app supports unau...

Re: TCPEvents : A better Network Event Receiver/Sender plugi

I'm guessing you're using my modified version of the plugin: https://github.com/per1234/TCPEvents/ By leaving the password field blank you have turned off authentication (password protected events) but that only works if all devices communicating via the TCPEvents system have authentication turned o...

Re: forward text strings to a LED panel

I just looked at my IR stuff more and the delay is actually only for auto repeat of the manual volume changes. The automatic volume changes don't have a delay but it still takes about 0.3 seconds to send each volume up command and 0.6 seconds for each volume down command. Maybe there's some chaff in...

Re: forward text strings to a LED panel

Yeah, it could possibly end up being pretty slow. I know you want the minimum possible delay between the song starting and the display updating. I do use a TIRA 2.1to send a whole bunch of IR commands in a row to my amplifier to change to volume presets. I see I have a 0.3 second delay between each ...

Re: Plugin manager for EG

Was thinking the same thing to add a CHANGELOG.md to all plugins. With plugins that are using publicly available version control like a Git repository, such as the stock EventGhost plugins, the commit history is the best changelog. I think having to maintain a separate (and likely far inferior) cha...

Re: forward text strings to a LED panel

It should be, though it's a lot more messy than just sending the string over the network using TCP/IP or RS232 using the Serial Port plugin. The remote control that comes with the panel has a button for every character so you could just learn every button/button combo or likely there's some sort of ...

Re: forward text strings to a LED panel

It really depends on the communication method and protocol. On that leadleds.com site they have models that are programmed via IR, USB, RS232, RS485, WiFi, Ethernet, GPRS, SMS. The IR ones should be pretty easy to communicate with if you get an IR blaster like TIRA 2.1 that can learn remote codes. Y...

Re: in a 'Python Shell' the 'help' command doesnt work

hey, im on a roll here! ive also sussed out my beta crashing issue but it seems to be pycrusts fault. i use the pycrust shell to get help on commands for scripting macros. so to recreate this issue is very simple: open a pycrust shell type 'help()' at this point the mouse pointer turns to a busy ti...

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but this plugin:

might at least give something to start from.

Re: Register Plugin Utility

Oh, my bad I see the .flake8 file for EventGhost says max-line-length = 80. That's strange because I thought flake8 was intended to enforce PEP8.

PEP8 specifies 79 characters or 72 for comments and docstrings:

Re: Website update

Keep in mind we're talking about the GitHub wiki here, not GitHub Pages(though dequi was previously proposing using GitHub Pages for the website). From what I can tell, the custom domain information is only for GitHub Pages and is not relevant to the GitHub wiki but I could be wrong about that.

Re: in a 'Python Shell' the 'help' command doesnt work

this could be what causes EG to crash if you are clicking back and forth between things and minimizing EG The crashes I experience while working on my tree are definitely not associated with minimizing because I never do that while working on the tree, only switch window focus but the EG window is ...

I had a look through the commits but nothing jumped out at me. Hopefully someone else will chime in with the answer.
