Re: in a 'Python Shell' the 'help' command doesnt work

That's unfortunate about the crashes. I also find that EventGhost crashes a lot(though this also happened quite often with 0.4.0-r1722), but almost always when I'm working on my tree, rather than when EG is running in the background. I've learned my lesson the hard way many times over to save very f...

Re: in a 'Python Shell' the 'help' command doesnt work

The PyCrust help feature(and license, credits, copyright) is now working in EventGhost 0.5.0-beta5.

Re: Why don't my/Appveyor builds of EventGhost work correctl

Yes, I just tried the latest AppVeyor build(322) with six.py added and there is no traceback and the System plugin is correctly loaded and the actions are available in the Add Action dialog. Great work, thanks! I think this is a very important thing to make it so anyone can beta test, review pull re...

Re: Why don't my/Appveyor builds of EventGhost work correctl

I know where the cause of the problem is... because of the speech plugin and downgrading pywin32 to work right with it. it's a possibility. I don't think the downgrade from pywin32 2.20 to 2.19 to fix the issue with the Speech plugin is the cause of my System plugin issue because it still occurs wi...

Re: Why don't my/Appveyor builds of EventGhost work correctl

The link you provided for the "official build instructions" does not point there. not shure where you were supposed to go with it.. It's in the section of CONTRIBUTING.md that I linked to: Setting up a build environment is now easier than ever -- just run python Build.py --make-env from an administ...

[SOLVED]Why don't my/Appveyor builds of EventGhost work corr

After doing my own build of the official source(following the official instructions ) or installing one of the AppVeyor test builds of EventGhost when I run EventGhost I get the following traceback: Traceback (most recent call last) (WIP-2017.01.03-18.17.05): File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\...

Re: Website update

Don't know if you can add a custom domain name to a wiki of a GitHub repository. Have not found any reference online how to do this yet but since this is a git repository should be possible no? Doing some tests on this. If not then we need to find an other way to link the EventGhost domain to the r...

Re: New version 0.5.0-beta5 is out

the plugin GUID cannot be used because of things like multiloading. so if a user has the same plugin loaded 2 times and then you go and disable the plugin programmatically it would disable both LOL Sorry, I'm talking about the XML_Guid property, not Guid. I thought that was clear from the context. ...

Re: New version 0.5.0-beta5 is out

if it is decided that the XmlIdLink is going to be depreciated I use Git for version control of my tree file. Half the time when I make a change to the tree the value of a whole bunch of unrelated ids and any references to those ids are automatically changed. This makes it a real hassle to see the ...

Re: Prevent action from beeing executed

OK, the attached file should do it.

By the way, 0.4.0.r1640 is a pretty ancient version of EventGhost.

Re: Website update

Do me a favor. Read the description on the github wiki and tell me if the description of EventGhost makes you think that it's an automation tool for controlling Microsoft Windows. That is just one thing that it does. But the description makes it seem limited to Windows control. I read it as meaning...

Thanks for the update dequi. I figured that life had caught up to you. The holidays are a busy time for me too but I'm starting to recover now and would be happy to help move this forwards. Re: Why was text=Text changed to text=Text() in Speech plugi

OK, I figured it out. I just needed to change:

Code: Select all

text = Text
to:

Code: Select all

baseText = Text
and

Code: Select all

print text.action2Test
to:

Code: Select all

print baseText.action2Test
but I have a question about that. Why not just do:

Code: Select all

print Text.action2Test
instead?
