Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Alright, perfect. I will also try to answer the other questions and remarks that came up over the last days. I'll do that when I have more time. For now, I just wanted to comment one thing: Also terRemotes background service does not appear to listen to UDP when the screen is off This is only partly...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

That's not what I expected... Certainly rules out what I was thinking could be the cause. Having no error message and the correct status line, the UDP listener must be running as expected. I'll send you another test version with some extra log messages to be sure and maybe get some extra information...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Any new error entries in the log? What does the status page say?

Could you activate the "Options->Send crash reports" checkbox and restart the UDP service?

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Default port is 9876. Do you have the beta version? Otherwise you can send me a PM with your email adress. I'll send you a test version. If it does not work with it, we at least have more debug information.

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Alright, I received the first error report and released the second beta version, trying to fix it. Also, I got rid of this annoying "restart the app" necessity when you change the use of features. It should now work right when you change the preferences.

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

I'm starting to think there is an issue with the UDP Receiver on some devices or with some Android versions. I released a new beta version. It has some more information about the status of the receiver. Please check the log and the status page whether anything appears there. Just a matter of time be...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

That does sound like an interesting and demanding setup. You can actually send to multiple IPs by loading the NetworkSenderPlugin more than once. It will appear as NetworkSender2, NetworkSender3, ... and can easily be used with these names. About the UDP issues: Did you try sending from one EG Serve...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

It's hard to tell what causes the UDP broadcast not to be received. Have you tried it with different devices / computers / WiFi networks? What about different ports? Failed sending can cause EG to slow down since all actions are executed in the same thread. Not a perfect design in some situations, I...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Oh, and your last questions: the terRemote EG plugin is not out, yet. Anyway, communication is basically the same so I don't think this would help. The UDP prefix just means that udp events all have the name "UDP.xxx" where UDP is the prefix. Same functionality as in the EG NetworkReceiver plugin. N...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Hard to diagnose from here. I guess the error you are getting is "NetworkSender failed" which is just the generic error of the NetworkSender plugin and does not say much. Are all of the following points checked? - In the NetworkSender preferences, the IP is the one of the phone (check either in the ...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Two possibilities:

Code: Select all

offset = 123456
url = 'http://192.168.0.116:8080/tv/getProgInfo?major=4&time=%i' % (offset)
f = urllib.urlopen(url)
or

Code: Select all

offset = 123456
url = 'http://192.168.0.116:8080/tv/getProgInfo?major=4&time=' + str(offset)
f = urllib.urlopen(url)
Hope that helps

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Wow, the activity in this thread is amazing, guys! About the text-alignment: If you don't have a background anyway, you can just set the button width to 0 (=auto size). This is then basically the same as a left alignment. There is still no way to set custom drawables dynamically. I'll try to put it ...

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Ah, yes, duration is an integer variable.
Try

Code: Select all

eg.plugins.NetworkSender2.plugin.Send("Dir.Channel", [unicode(duration)])
to ensure that it is converted into a unicode string.

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

In my code I assumed that the returned string was in eg.result. I think in your case this translates to import urllib import json f = urllib.urlopen('http://192.168.0.116:8080/tv/getTuned') result = f.read() data = json.loads(result) duration = data["duration"] eg.plugins.NetworkSender2.plugin.Send(...
