[guide] Debug using Aptana Studio 3 with PyDev

I don´t know if you need the default python 2.6 (or 2.7), or if the one available at http://www.stackless.com (version 2.6.x) which I know EG is using.
  1. Get Aptana Studio 3. Setup a workspace, and make sure the plugin files are available in it.
  2. Add these rows to your code (you might have to modify the path to psysrc to fit your installation):

    Code: Select all

    	sys.path.append('c:\\Users\\YourUserName\\appdata\\Local\\Aptana Studio 3\\plugins\\org.python.pydev_2.7.0.2012110722\\pysrc')
    	import pydevd;pydevd.settrace()
  3. Now follow this guide: http://pydev.org/manual_adv_remote_debugger.html to start the PyDev remote debugging server. Step #3 in the referenced guide (Make sure pydevd.py is in your pythonpath), has an incorrect path. Step #2 in this guide has a correct one.
  4. Add some breakpoints, and finally lanuch EG
