PLEASE I need to have some people test this thing out. I need to know if it is working properly. If something isn't please tell me. I do not want to go live with a broken website. this is extremely important. I need to get as much as i can fixed before we go live.

It loaded good for me.
I can check again later.

btw... clicking every link in the homepage header bar makes me see (again) how wonky (in looks and layout) the site is... Every page is different. lol

Not a big deal and I know that isn't what this topic is about.
It's just a little "funny". Some pages look like it's from the 70's and a few from the 90's.

If consistency is important to folks... we apologize.
;)

Loads great for me Kevin clicking from the US.
All try later from "Romania".

You rock my friend.
Thanks for all your doing for EG.

@zian

TY for the kind words. and I am simply doing what is necessary to ensure EG will be around for the foreseeable future. It's simply way to valuable a tool and it shouldn't fade away. I really appreciate all of the folks who are currently helping with making sure EG is is up to snuff and that people will be able to find the help they need when they need it. I appreciate all that you have done with keeping EG around all these years. It's amazing when you read the old posts when the exchange took place. it got right down to the wire and when people were trying to figure out what to do. you simply went a did it. and then others jumped in to help with the move because of that. So if you hadn't gone and set up the accounts and took out of your own pocket EG would have most likley been lost.

As far as the forum having different "looks" to it. that is how the prosilver theme is with the new version of the forum. I am planning on adding themes to it so the user can select the one they want to use. I am also looking into getting a mobile version of the mediawiki up as well. and I still have to get a mobile version installed on the new site as well. I will be starting the process to redo the server into it's permanent configuration this will allow for us to be able to run a test version of the site at the same time the production version is running. I am stalling a little bit on it as I want to get the last RC out for EG 0.5 this way we can have some running time in with it before we go full release which is what I would like to do when the final site move is done.

If there is anyone out there that has the skills to create a website I could use the help in this area. I would like to give the EG site a facelift so if anyone has the skills, time, and is willing please let me know.

It's a WIP and kgschlosser is still working on it. So it may sometimes happen that nothing happens. :wink:

OK server update.

I have successfully set up virtual web sites. this way we can have a test site and a production site at the same time. documentation is pretty intensive as i do not want to miss a single thing. that is what is so time consuming. I am going to be bringing the test site up again in the next couple of days I am trying to avoid installing ubuntu desktop or the rdp services as this adds load to the server. not that it would be an issue at this current state but I would rather not have to deal with trying to remove it at a later date. and also the yahoos that set up the initial image for the OS only allocated 10GiB to the root partition and I do not want to use this up.

I am going to have to do some legwork to see how I can go about setting up virtual MySQL databases I do not know if this can be done. I would rather not have the test DB's be located in the same place as the production ones.
