Hello,
First thing off before changing too much, check that there are events published to the broker from the zwave controller. For this purpose you can use any standard MQTT client, I personally use Node-RED but another good one is MQTT.fx but there are others as well.

Regarding the both variants of the plugin, I have just kept the old for bw compatibility. The newer one is based on a newer library (paho) so I assume there would be some improvements in there as well. But both should be able to handle events from your zwave controller

Thanks Walter. How do I go about checking that events are getting published to the broker? Is this done on the pi or from anywhere on the network?

What I ment is that you should verify this with a MQTT Client app, like how it is described here:
http://eventghost.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... =30#p32781

If you do not receive events, the problem is related to configuration inside the pi

I just upgraded to the latest z-wave.me and of course it did not work right away, no events came in to EG as before the upgrade

The upgrade "destroyed" my old edits

So, I had to

1) edit the main.js again and inserting the code from the old main.js (with my definition of devices and events)

2) edit the .syscommands file and insert the keyword python

After this, things started to work as before (eventually after restart of the z-wave server)

Thanks! working again. After the raZberry upgrade I redid all the bits, but this time it needed raspbian updating, quick update of that and all is working once more.
That software showed nothing was coming in.

thanks again.
