I know this is old, but I just saw these messages.

In order to send a message from IFTTT, you do two things.

1. Set up the webserver plugin on the EG side, and make sure you open/forward a port in your firewall for the incoming traffic.
2. On the maker platform, build an applet, where the action is a webhook. I took the simple approach, and just did a GET, and passed it a URL like this: http://<username>:<password>@<webserveraddress>:<port>/index.html?IFTTT&<EGAction> substituting in the proper values... firing this, you'd get something like: "HTTP.IFTTT [u'ToggleInternet']" in EG - where HTTP is the Webserver plugin prefix, and EGAction is "ToggleInternet" for a payload in my example.

I completely forgot to place a response in this thread. we have updated the requests library for the next release of EG (i think ) I believe that fixes the issue with the missing ssl cert. I don't recall tho. I know this issue came up before as well... maybe search the forum for requests ssl

(and yes you can search for 3 letter/digits i updated the search index to support this)

I forgot this was here also. At one point this was a big deal for me because i was trying to use it in combination with google home to control WMC. Thanks for posting, and I'll have to try this at some point.

The fix as been added but is not yet included in any release or pre release. if you click on the build button at the top of the forum you will be able to download and install the latest stable build of EG. This build will have the fix to the ssl issue included in it.
