Possible to control MPC-BE + Kodi via Kodi Remote?

Post by mikela » Thu Aug 24, 2017 3:16 pm

Hi Folks,

I am using an iPad as a remote in my home theater http://www.avsforum.com/forum/19-dedica ... st52234073. I have an unRaid server/HTPChttp://www.avsforum.com/forum/19-dedica ... st54649572 with Windows 10 running virtually. I have the Official Kodi Remote on the iPad to control MPC-BE as an external Kodi player. I can move up, down and select a movie to play, however, I can not pause or resume play. Would EventGhost allow me to control these parameters in MPC-BE? I don't want to spend a lot of time coming up to speed on EG only to find it won't do what I need.

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=694&start=120#p41126 says BE isn't supported natively, but you could still use keyboard emulation, eg. space is the default for pause, to do what you want.

Or you could use MPC-HC to get events, and proper integration with EventGhost.

Thanks!!! I will give it a go. It looks like EG may also be a benefit for lighting and perhaps starting all the software etc. for the theater. I am glad to see from your link that a potential plug in for MPC-BE may be in the works given that many of us have transitioned from MPC-HC.
