I am not getting an error.... That is what is strange..

I am not sure as to why you are getting the HTTP error if you installed the WinUSB addon. because the program is set up so it looks for that first. and if it is not able to locate it then it tries the download.

use this link and see if a download box pops up.. I am curious to know if it does.

http://www.eventghost.net/downloads/win ... dpinst.exe

when i use that link it asks me if i want to download the file and when i click on save. it does indeed download it.
Each time you get an error please post a screen shot of it. I need to see if it is a different error message in the log. The first error you posted a screen shot of and the last one you posted a screen shot of are not the same error so progress has been made. I do not understand as to why you are getting a permissions related problem... I reset the permissions and I am able to download the file without issue. The code in the file uses the same path and filenames. so there should not be an issue there either.

also. paste the code below into a python screip and then run the python script. this is going to duplicate the downloading portion of the drivers. It is not going to install them. I used this and it worked perfectly to download them.

Code: Select all

import wx
from eg.Classes import WinUsb
import hashlib
import os
import threading

stopEvent = threading.Event()

neededFiles = []
for name, md5hash in WinUsb.NEEDED_FILES:
    path = os.path.join(WinUsb.INSTALLATION_ROOT, name)
    if not os.path.exists(path):
        neededFiles.append((WinUsb.DOWNLOAD_ROOT + name, path))
        continue

    md5 = hashlib.md5()
    md5.update(open(path, "rb").read())
    if md5.hexdigest() != md5hash:
        neededFiles.append((WinUsb.DOWNLOAD_ROOT + name, path))

wx.CallAfter(eg.TransferDialog, None, neededFiles, stopEvent)
