First time Event Ghost user, so this might be a user error - but please bear with me :)

I'm trying to load this plugin. In its original state everything is great (after setting up VLC to handle connections). I can use the scripts and all. However, if I try to use the plugin to start VLC I get an error that it cannot find the specified file. I've checked the registry and the information there is correct.

This is the error in the log:
Error in Action: "VLC media player: Start"
Traceback (most recent call last) (1722):
File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\eg\Classes\ActionBase.py", line 170, in CallWrapper
return self(*args)
File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\VLC\__init__.py", line 193, in __call__
1
error: (2, 'ShellExecute', 'The system cannot find the file specified.')
VLC is located in "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe", which is also the value of the registry key used in GetVlcPath().

Any tips on this? It's not a showstopper. I just like it all to work ;) I'm on Windows 10 professional.

it is probably because the information hjas not been added for the 64 bit version of VLC. for a long long time vlc did not offer a 64 bit version. Give me a day or so to add that support to it.

I would also like to make a really strong recommendation to yo. you should run EventGhost 0.5 even tho it is a release candidate. there are many issues with windows 10 and EG 0.4 that have been fixed in EG 0.5. there are a few quirks in EG 0.5 that have been resolved and will be in the next release candidate but they are easy to put into place if you have an issue.

Thanks! Looking forward to the fix. Will also try 0.5. You're right about it being 64 bit.

ok I found the problem. as I to have the same problem. VLC's installer is boogered up. it doesn't properly place it's path in the correct containers. and it also does not remove the records on uninstall. I have worked around the problem version is attached.
