help with Webserver plugins

Postby scottsams » Sun Aug 20, 2017 11:48 am

I am having issues with my webserver plugin and cannot figure out what is going on. this usually occurs after a reboot - which i have to do often. usually a second reboot fixes the issue. i am on windows 10. i have reinstalled plugin, reinstalled EG as well to no avail. can you help? any info you need, let me know. it happens on all my webserver events.

Let me see if i can't help you out here. Just an FYI, if you post your questions to the plugin thread your referring(in this case the webserver plugin here: http://eventghost.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1663). You will likely get a quicker response from someone that has more intimate knowledge on your query.

Okay, so first question. How do you have the webserver's action config setup?

I mean, what does your configuration for the webserver action "Send Event to another EventGhost" look like. I'm able to replicate the error when i set mine up like this.
webserverError.jpg

If i send it with a direct ip:port like this, it works properly for me.

Just for clarification here. What your saying is that these actions will work for a while after reboot. Then sometime later you start to get this error until you reboot again?

It seems like this is the error that get's thrown when it can't find the host it's trying to send the event to. So is the ip:port your trying to send active when the errors begin?

Thanks Yokel,
you nailed it. for some reason it can no longer communicate with the other server which is on a different network. not sure what happened. routing is there so i will dig into it.

thanks again!

turns out i had deleted my ip reservation for my gateway into that network and dhcp server gave out a new ip. working as expected now. not sure what was going on with the intermittent issue originally.
