Eventghost won't start

Post by wysocki » Wed Oct 17, 2018 12:33 am

Several times when I restart my computer (Win 7/64), EventGhost won't start. Even if I click the shortcut or do a start/run it won't start. I see it flash for a split second in the processes list but it won't start. Interestingly, there is a task listed under the Applications tab called Eg2MbMessages which is "running" but I see no evidence of it on the desktop. Is that part of EG?

At other times, EG will start, but the status indicator on the taskbar is red, even though the status indicator in EG is green. Related???

Have you installed any plugins that would cause this behavior? Have you tried starting EG from the Program files x86 folder? Have you tried moving your EG tree to a different location to see if something under auto start is causing problems? Which version of EG are you on?

The only plugin I've added recently was ScheduGhost. I've removed it but still can't start EG. I tried running the exe from the program files folder as well. Not sure what you mean by moving the EG tree??
I'm running Version WIP-2018.03.02-11.16.00. The Eg2MbMessages app is still running too. Is this a part of EventGhost?

I've been able to get it running on startup after a few computer restarts. But if I exit, I can't get it started again without a computer restart. If I do a file|restart, I get "error occured" message. Here's the tail of my log file:

the Eg2MbMessages process that is a go between for EG and MusicBee. this process is getting orphaned somehow. if you kill that process then EG should start properly.
If you like the work I have been doing then feel free to Image
