Re: subprocess not working in eventghost...

First off let me start by saying...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

My steps into python has been less than easy. I am not a programmer (but I have used computers since I was a kid programming my apple IIe+) by nature and all of the tutorials seem either too simple (print 'Hello, world!') or to ...

subprocess not working in eventghost...

Hello everyone,

I have been on a trek to learn python (not going well) to make a simple script to check to see what woke my computer and if it is the USB hub, to turn on my TV and other devices. I want to search the output for USB Root Hub and if this is found turn on stuff. I was helped and given ...

Re: Need help knowing when USB-UIRT wakes computer...

Thanks for the reply. So I can set event ghost to run macros when the computer turns on, goes to sleep, and turns off that would turn my TV on and off. The problem is that if my computer turns on say to record a TV show, I don't want my TV powered on. I need to isolate the USB-UIRT signal to turn of ...

How do I write a macro to trigger from payload of an event?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to use the command line option to create an event within eventghost that I can then use to trigger a macro within eventghost. Right now I know I can use the following:

-event <eventname> [<payload> ...]
Issues the event <eventname> in the currently running EventGhost ...

Need help knowing when USB-UIRT wakes computer...

Hello everyone,

I use my USB-UIRT to control my windows 8.1x64 HTPC computer running Mediaportal. I can program the USB-UIRT to wake my computer from a sleep state using 1 of 4 individual IR codes. My remote will send 2 different IR codes for the same button alternating between them (WMC remote ...

Re: How can I IR blast on TV when computer resumes?

Thanks again for the help. Sorry for the delay in getting back. So I followed your instructions and powered on my computer 3 times using three different ways (the USB-UIRT, a keyboard connected via USB dongle, and via a magic packet WOL).

Re: How can I IR blast on TV when computer resumes?

I love your first idea. That is very sleek, but this is way beyond my skill set. I'm not even sure I know what is meant by parse the powercfg state. I though that at first the second idea would work, but in reality I need more than just one thing turned on so I could send the IR command to turn on ...

How can I IR blast on TV when computer resumes?

Hello everyone,

I just found EventGhost (so cool!) and have been able to set up my windows 7 x64 Home Premium machine with it. I have a USB-UIRT as an IR receiver and blaster. Found the plug-in and have created a macro that when I push the "Power" button on my remote control, Eventghost will blast ...
