I have the exact same problem on my rig. Windows 8.1, using EventGhost 0.4.1r1640, and a xbox360 wired controller. I didn't know exactly it was the joysticks causing the issue but I do have to get up from my couch and back to my pc whilst watching xbmc a few times every night, just to restart E.G ...
