Re: Getting a spurious keyboard event

Yeah, I always use the stop macro if window not found. I thought you mean't to turn on the full stop macro option, which by the way I proved really does stop the macro.

Again, thank you very much for your help,
Steve

Re: Getting a spurious keyboard event

Hmm, maybe there's a new profession I could go into -- coding comic. I'd need you guys help though since I'd be clueless as to when I created a screwy combination.

kgschlosser, why use the stop macro setting in the Find Window action? I did this and as suspected the macro stopped without processing ...

Re: Getting a spurious keyboard event

Here's a screen shot from today. The first "skip forward" command was from a short key press that originated from FLIRC that converted a command from my remote control (I get the same odd fake key press when I use USB and PS2 keyboards). The second "skip forward" command was from a long key press ...

Re: Getting a spurious keyboard event

Here is a better picture of the erroneous events. I let EG log all events. The log shows an odd key sequence of Keyboard.Shift+Ctrl+Right+F that is then resubmitted as Keyboard.Shift+Ctrl+F which triggers actions. Neither of these events are from a keyboard.

skip forward repeat failure &amp ...

Getting a spurious keyboard event

I have an odd issue where it appears EG is creating an event that doesn't exist. I use a particular structure in several places that converts a key combination into an action that repeats if the key is pressed more that about half a second. In most places, the action works properly as shown in the ...

Re: Task Monitor Plus shows different events in Win 7 vs. Win 10

Thanks again for your help.

I can only imagine how difficult it is to keep up with OS changes. I would think you and others would have gone mad by now. It drove me nuts going through all of the settings in Win 10. I spent a lot of time with things like the group policy manager tweaking settings to ...

Task Monitor Plus shows different events in Win 7 vs. Win 10

I have been using my Windows 7 machine for building most of my eg configuration files. The target computer uses Windows 10. After a few configuration tweaks on the Win 10 computer, I transferred the eg configuration file back to my Win 7 computer to add more functions.

The first thing eg does is ...

Re: Add new function to "Run Application" action?

Ok. Thanks for letting me know.

With the Task Monitor plugin, does the logged event "Task.Activated.firefox" that occurs after the action "Run Application: firefox.exe" mean that firefox is completely up and running?

Thanks very much,
Steve

Add new function to "Run Application" action?

I notice the "Run Application" action has the ability to "wait until application is terminated before processing" and the ability to "trigger event when application is terminated." Can the same actions be added for when an application has finished starting? This would be "wait until application has ...

Re: Trigger event adds Main. in EG 0.5.0

The Main prefix started showing up after I added the Task Create plugin and started triggering events based upon an application, Firefox, becoming active. The Main prefix did not show up all the time though. I have moved to your latest eg version so I can't go back and check for more precise info.

Re: Norton blocked "EventGhost_0.5.0-rc4_Setup.exe" from GitHub

I downloaded what I guess is your work in process file from the "build passing" link shown at the top of the page. Why does the software try to reach out to Api.Github.com when I start the program?

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Odd issue with getting Emulate Keystrokes to work all the time

Ok, I'll do more testing and changes. The thing I find odd is that the HID command goes through but the other keyboard event does not.

Thanks for all the help you're giving me,
Steve

Re: Norton blocked "EventGhost_0.5.0-rc4_Setup.exe" from GitHub

Norton acted odd since it said the 0.5.0-rc4 file was removed, but the file is where I told it to go. Norton and Malwarebytes don't have a problem with it now. Odd.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for the info. I do have uBlock Origin and a few other addons on Firefox. I downloaded the WIP file you mentioned and it came through ok.

Thanks,

Norton blocked "EventGhost_0.5.0-rc4_Setup.exe" from GitHub

I tried downloading EventGhost_0.5.0-rc4_Setup.exe from Github and received the following message. Any idea why?

Threat name: Heur.AdvML.CFull Path: d:\my program updates\multimedia\remote control\event ghost (girder replacement)\eventghost_0.5.0-rc4_setup ...
