The remote definitely does transmit an enduring stream I realise now ÔÇô for example: when it is set to talk to the amplifier, the volume control works perfectly. I havenÔÇÖt had time to try xyzÔÇÖs suggestion yet but I hope to give it a go this weekend.

Hi xyz ÔÇô yes: thatÔÇÖs the problem on the nail. Thank you for your response ÔÇô I hadnÔÇÖt realised that the RAW code option did anything other than change the look of button events in the XML. I will give your solution a go tonight and post back how I got on. Cheers for this.
