Maybe this could help? (check SO_BTH_ENTER_SNIFF_MODE). Looks like MS stack has support for the sniff mode. Anyone could check this and maybe implement it?

i can write that your post is what i want to hear from long time.
1. a precision benchmark of app results, a drop in power consumption from 16 to 0.14 it is big (i not expect so good result) (if u can teach to me how to do this, it help in future developments)

ok, from what i read here it look like the warper i use to command bluetooth do not work in Windows 7 64Bits;
sorry, as soon as i have a little time i try a new code (idependent of bluetooth stack / base on hid device only), hope this to solve many bugs.

I do not have a Windows 7 x64 dev env for test so, i can't help, when i make some time, i make a try in Windows 7 x64 and see the problem.

I'm trying to use BDRemotePowerManager 1.0.1 on Windows 7 32-bit. When I click on "Populate Items", it simply locks up and stops responding..

Windows 7 have better power management = Windows 7 will put BD Remote to sleep.
False : tested by me and also documented.
Windows 7 put his connection to sniff mood in response to device changing connection mod.

Ok i transform the BDRemotePowerFix in BDRemotePowerManager.
BD Remote Power Manager 1.0.1 put PS3 BD Remote to sleep mode / sniff mode / low-power state mode, after a time of inactivity to save battery life and show status of remote in systray.
Application work in Windows XP, Windows Vista ...

the usage @ BDRemotePowerFix:
download and unzip all components in one folder
run BDRemotePowerFix.exe, when all work fine it start writing back

the output @ BDRemotePowerFix:

[bt] Search for BD Remote...

what does the plugin do?...
its reading some info in bt stake and disconect the device (The remote it's start back to work in ~1s after u press any key)
because i can't check the remote power mode i do not know if it is working or not, but because bt report as not seeing/not speak back ...

Ok, for 3-4 weeks i try to find a solution to power problem, not a result.
So i decide to do it myself .

Application is not a plug-in, it is an exe and is very very beta. If prove to work , i make it more cool/usable.
