Maybe the best solution is to write a plugin for MC which communicates with EG?
Not the easiest solution, but certainly the best looking.
The plugins available today doesn't do exactly what I want and it's a bit tricky to connect them to a button on the remote.
Looks like I have to find another ...

I'm having trouble getting the OSD to show on top of Media Center when running MC in full screen.
EG version 0.3.7.r1462
Windows Vista x64 and Windows 7 x32
