When I get to step 8 my remote still works in windows.
Can you find the device in device manager? It sounds like even though it is labeled as an MCE receiver, it isn't detected as such (since the registry changes don't keep it from being loaded by the OS). This means that is a non-MCE receiver ...

Hello, I've been trying to get event ghost working for the past couple days with no luck. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. The most current version of EG. I'm using a generic Ebay MCE remote and receiver. The remote and receiver both work in windows 7 already but are not recognized by EG. Ive tried ...
