It is working now
All I did was to restart the system and that has fixed the problem.

Are you running mediaportal with admin priviledges and EG as a restricted user?

An update. Pressing the key on the remote generates the following in the log:
MceRemote.Ok ----> event
Ok ----> macro
MediaPortal: Ok ----> action
So EventGhost configuration is probably ok. Is it MediaPortal that is ignoring the action sent from EventGhost? It seems so but I cannot find anything ...

I have configured EventGhost with the MediaPortal plugin and configured the macros with events for my remote's (MCE) keys. I have also configured MediaPortal with the MessagePlugin and have enabled it. When I press the keys on my remote, they show up in the EventGhost log, but they dont get passed ...
