I also use MCE remote with eventghost - worked for me right away

1) I'm running MCE 2005 and I run the replacement drivers - BUT - Make sure that the MCE remote works - quickest way is fire up windows media player and try play pause (with the standard drivers of course) AND eventghost NOT running ...

So it follows that if you set volume increase to 0.0% you will get the current volume - and no errors (I don't think you can call eg.WinAPI.SoundMixer.GetMasterVolume() directly without some set up)

I was interested in this plugin - but I can't seem to get it to activate
- I dropped the OSDMenu folder in the plugins folder of eventghost and when trying to add the plugin - the OK button is greyed out
I'm using 0.3.5c.908
This is what I get in the startup log
Can't read __init__.py for plugin ...
