Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
hmmm I think i'll have to re-read this a few more times to fully grasp what you are implying/instructing. But to answer some of your questions now that I'm actually in front of the HTPC:
I may have led you on a bit of a red herring. I am still fairly confident that I used the inteset IR receiver on ...

@kgschlosser thanks for the response (and for forgiving)

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
@kgschlosser Sorry for my absence. I have a small child and finding time to trouble shoot these things is a bit difficult.

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
@kgschlosser you're just going to look at my pasted text file and look for the specific codes that appear in all 3 presses right? I can def do that myself if so, but thank you for the offer

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
I was about to do all the steps you wrote but I had one clarification. I was typing it when I thought maybe I should just try the latest version of the plugin first (Sorry I didn't follow the directions verbatim...yet). So I clicked on the link and installed and it seemed to go alright. When I added ...

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
@jachin99 Do I have to re-click the "run EventGhost as Administrator" every time the computer is restarted? In any event I'm getting all these errors precisely WHEN i click "Install" on the alt IR driver (right after installing the Plugin). I tried a second time after going to File->Restart ...

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
@kgschlosser I completed the steps in the fixed link (thanks for that). I get the same error messages in the EventGhost log that I pasted above when I go to Install the Microsoft MCE Remote (Vista+) plugin. Looking into pasting the xml (as a txt/zip) now...

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
@kgschlosser Where might I find this file that would help (that I must zip or change to txt)? Somewhere in userdata? Thanks for the new link. I will attempt that soon

@kgschlosser I'll try to PM my EG save file tonight, but let me attempt to explain once more. I have 2 PC's on a single IR blaster, HTPC and a PC that's used for lots of things and as a backup HTPC when the main one is having issues. Since they are on ...

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
Thanks for the info guys! I can't say I fully understand all of what you suggest, but I'll def take the time to figure it out. I did NOT know that the newer plugin was the Win 7 one, that is good info. I haven't messed with any of the xml files. Are you talking about the Kodi userdata files or more ...

Re: MCE Remote Plugin error and stopped logging after upgrade to Windows 10
So "Restart as Administrator" did indeed get rid of the warning about changing the HID service and being administrator (after a reset), but unfortunately the buttons that aren't the Microsoft Keyboard are still not registering in EventGhost.

Re: 2 PC's on same IR blaster, want IR sent to one at a time
Just reporting back: @kkl 's suggestion turned out to be exactly what was needed and as soon as I got my new inteset IR receiver plugged it i started to set it up. The hardest part was trying to find "dummy" devices that had enough keys that were read by the eHome receiver (after much trial and ...
