I am concerned that the Layout Repository (accessed from within the options menu within the Eventghost app on your android phone) is now down. I now have no way to "back up" my layouts. I tried to figure out how to access the layout file (see comments above) with no success.

I do have a external and internal sdcard - no .eglayout file in either of these locations.
I looked under "data" on the main drive for my android. Nothing there either. I found and eventghost folder on the main drive, but this location only had a 2 KB New Layout.eglayout file.
Do I need to root ...

I'm sure you could interface Girder with EG via network sender/receiver or http. There is an Insteon plugin for EG and it is continuing development, but it is very basic right now.
