I'm running EG 0.4.1.r1527 on 32-bit Windows 7, with the Windows 7 version of the MCE plugin. From time to time the AlternateMceIrService crashes, as described elsewhere on the forum, so I set the service's recovery options to restart it after 0 minutes if it crashes, as per the workaround described ...
