Why did you need to edit the remote.xml?
I don't use the default mapping for all contexts in XBMC (for example, I have a key set in <FullscreenVideo> to call xbmc.ActivateWindow(osdaudiosettings) and one to call xbmc.ActivateWindow(osdvideosettings). I think I could have used one of the function ...
