I had this problem too, and short answer is I resolved it by reverting to the Hauppauge Live TV version that came on the CD (7.20A) that shipped with my HVR-2250.
I had been using 7.25c downloaded from Hauppauge. I reverted to the 7.20A while troubleshooting a problem with Sage TV.
