OK folks.
I finally got it to work as I wanted Many thanks to all and in particular Yokel22.
Using your Macros etc. and with a bit of tweaking, all is now good.

Re: hold down a key
Hi again.
This is where I am at.
My present setup which works without a hitch allows me to change between the 8 jukeboxes by doing this -
Press and hold Q. Then press a number key 1-8. Jukebox which is running, closes and another will open depending on which number key I press.

Re: hold down a key
OK that works! Holds the Q key until key 1-8 is pressed, then releases Q.
I have pasted it into my EG on the jukebox. Works the same although I am running earlier version of EG.
My next problem is to get the jukebox program to accept my key presses. The setup at the moment is as follows -

Re: hold down a key
Hi again.
Sorry if I appear to be completely mad, but I can not get your macros etc to paste int my EG tree. I tried several times - select/copy/paste but it is not behaving as it should. Nothing appears in the tree, only a heap of lines in the left pane ( all red ) As far as I know and having used ...

Re: hold down a key
Hi and many thanks for your reply. I have used your script but at the moment it seems to be throwing up errors on most lines. I need to get down to it and see what is going on.
Meantime here is a clearer picture of what I am trying to do -
I am using Q+1 through to Q+8 to trigger the opening of a ...

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi KG
That is about it yes.
I have got three installations of Jukebox in place. Each one has a different main screen and a different collection of music. The idea is to be able to cycle through each one by using just one button push. So that the three are read as different programs I have got each ...

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi KG
Working perfectly just as you set it up. Many thanks My next problem is that I started out with three DWjukeboxes all set up, and used enable exclusive to close one and open the next and so on. This as you will recall, worked exept for leaving the 'closed' instances only minimised. I have ...

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi KG
Wow, you must have really dug into the thing. It may be that I can't get to test it out until tomorrow - work gets in the way.
Looking at it, I would think that I have to alter a few bits to suit my file names and locations etc. Is that how it is?
I agree with you that the jukebox program is ...

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi KG
I can't see them in there. Bear in mind that I am only able to see task manager with DWJ minimised. Great if you can take a look inside it on your machine
Thanks

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi again KG
I fully understand the fact that it is a dos program converted for windows. Do you have any other idea as to how I can find the proccess which is not shutting down? Could there be a clue in the fact that I have this problem with XP but in win7 everything works perfectly?

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi again KG.
How about a complete re-think.
I had a thought that if EG could somehow change to different user accounts and I could set up a different DW jukebox on each user profile with auto run of both EG and DWJ I may achieve something. Or does this sound pretty mad?
I have also noticed that if ...

Re: close a program - not minimise it
Hi KG
I tried as you suggested but so many problems are being kicked up. At the moment I have settled for a two button setup. I press the key to exit jukebox and then another to run EG Macro setup to change to next juke box and so on. I may decide to incorporate this into my jukebox hardware as I ...
