Well I thought I had a work around. Maybe still do. There are other serial device plugins..denon, avr's etc. With those, I can get EG to show activity in the log. The problem is that instead of the "event" lighting bolt, the string is preceded by an "i" and the macros won't respond.

Ok, someone has to have an answer. I was playing around with it again a few minutes ago and all of a sudden the serial strings started to show up in the event log. After 5 or so successful attempts, the log no longer will show the incoming serial strings.

Serial Plug in...send, but won't receive

Hello All, I'm new to EG. I've installed the serial plug in and have everything connected. My problem is that I'm able to send serial strings to my Automation Controller from EG, but the serial strings from the automation panel to EG don't show up in the log.
