I recently bought a StarTech USB IR receiver . It seems to use the S110 chipset.
The driver seems pretty good. I can set it in the following modes:
"SigmaTel 4012"
"Vishay 6101E"
"Vishay 6102F [Default]"
"Vishay 6102F (alternate)"
"Infineon"
"HP 1100"
"Zilog ZHX2010"
