we have an issue with the attachments. and that issue being we have reached the maximum number of files we are allowed to have.

If you EG'ers could do me a favor. and go through your posts. if you have an old attachment. for things like log data for bugs that have been fixed could you please edit the posts and delete the attached files.

Only do this on old posts I hate doing this but we need to free up some upload slots until we figure out what we are going to do about this problem. I know it's a lot of work to do this but not doing so is going to hinder plugin updates and releases. as well as anyone that may have a problem will not be able to upload their log files.

I have opened up 35 attachment slots so that should hold us for a little bit. try to limit the number of attachments unless it is absolutely necessary. I am the biggest user of attachments so if i forget please remind me.

I have 110 attachments, I'll remove some old stuff.

Anybody willing to help with this you get to a nice list of your attachments in "Control panel->Manage attachments"

i just deleted a massive 2 attachments! lol... not much help but its all i had!

size is not the issue. it's the number of them we have 6000 and the hosting company has a cap of 6000 files per directory. so small or large either way. if it's something that you think can be deleted then delete it

oops I read the last post wrong. but still. the above applies

and 2 attachments deleted is 2 more that can be added. so if it's 2 you can do we will take it.

I want to thank all the people who have cleared up some of the attachments. we should be OK for a while as we do some research into the best possible host provider. I think we may go the route of a VPS this way no filesystem limitations would be imposed. tho to get a great price on one it will have to be unmanaged. so i am going to have to brush up on my linux if anyone knows of a good hosting company let me know. I don't think that our current hosting company is going to remove the caps and i do not want to remove any more of the attachments. I have removed a lot of posts where is did an attachment for each incremented version of a plugin I only left the most up to date one. so if by chance there is something missing that you need and knew was there before send me a PM and i will see what i can do to accommodate ya.
