Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
Problem statement: Eventghost only recognizes 7 of the keys on my remote when I use the "generic HID" plugin. If I use the keyboard plugin all keys are recognized, but that interferes with using the keyboard.
I did a google search and found a new plugin in the SVN 1439 branch named "PHX01RN", but I receive errors when I try to add that plugin to my current version of eventghost. I am guessing the plugin depends on other changes in SVN 1439.
What is the best way to get all buttons on this remote to work with eventghost? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Marc
Configuration information
Remote: PHX01RN
Event ghost version: 0.3.7.r1436
OS: Windows XP SP3.

this seems like a candidate for the 0.4.0 version and it's WinUSB driver

Re: Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
Bartman, thanks for the reply. Is there some way I can gain access to this capability ahead of the 4.0 release? While I am able to use XBMC without eventghost through the keymap, the system frequently responds twice to a single key press. I think that adding a delay before events are repeated will help and I think I need eventghost support to do this. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

You can already download an experimental version
http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/
I use it on a regular basis myself although i don't have any candidates for the WinUSB driver part.

Re: Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
Thank you very much -- that worked perfectly and solves my double-press problem!
I notice that the IR receiver driver now has the option to "allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". I have this option turned on but I can't seem to find any remote key press that will cause the machine to come out of standby. I've checked the bios and USB devices are allowed to bring the machine out of standby mode.
Any suggestions?

I guess it is an generic thing and the remote has to also support this.

Re: Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
Bartman, thanks for the reply -- I'll play around some more to see if I can find a sequence that activates things from standby. I'm coming from the world of LIRC on Linux, and while I am fairly proficient at configuring LIRC, I find Eventghost much easier to deal with. This is a great product!

Re: Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
I am currently running the experiment version of Eventghost version "0.4.0.r1397, 11.8 MB, Jan 23 2010". I notice that the latest non-experimental version is "0.3.7.r1462, 11.9 MB, Apr 02 2010". Does this version (0.3.7r1462) have support for "PHX01RN" remote or should I stick with 0.4.0.r1397. Thanks!

Re: Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
Iv'e got a similar problem with my remote, bought from Ebay. I'm new to eventghost and running expiremental version.
I'm running.
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Eventghost: 0.4.0.r1397
IR-Reciever: W-01RN
Se attached files for Remote picture and Devicemanager tree (before installing PHX01RN driver via eventghost). And eventghost configuration.
To my problem.
It seems like Eventghost registrers all the buttons I push, but I can't assign them.
And it seems like it registrers same code for volume down as for volume up.
Allt he 0,0,0 etc are volume up and volume down signals and the last row is when I press Media Center Button. But these comes up as an "informational" in the log and I can't drag and drop them to assign them to a task (look at attached image).
I know this isn't the PHX-01RN remote but it looks like it behaves the same way as it registrers all the remote pushes.

Re: Only 7 keys recognized from PHX01RN remote
After using this remote and receiver for several months I purchased this unitand am much happier with the results:
1. Receiver is much more sensitive -- never missed a "click".
2. It is able to bring the unit out of standby mode.
Note that I used a Harmony universal remote -- not the original remote, so in both cases my commentary is about the receiver.
