I finally got a usb serial port adapter so I could use my Irman on my more modern computers but I'm having a problem getting it to work with EventGhost. The error I get in the log is:
Error starting plugin: UIR / Irman
Unable to initialise device!
I've dug up an old copy of girder to test both the usb serial port and the Irman and it works there but I would prefer using EventGhost. I've searched the forums for answers on trying to get it to work but I haven't found anything. Is there a way to troubleshoot the problem or to get more detailed error reports? Or does anybody have a solution on how to get it working? I did have this working on an older Win7 machine with built-in serial ports.

For anybody else that runs into this problem,I figured out a solution. I installed WinLIRC then used the LIRC plugin in EventGhost.
