Growl
I created a new plugin - Growl (Growl for Windows of course).
With this plugin you can send a notifications to Growl.
This allows you to use a lot of nice OSD to display your information.

Re: Growl
New version - 0.0.2.
I added a new option - it is now possible to coalesce notes.
Unfortunately, I have found so far only one display that supports coalescing.
It's a display that is called Meter.

Re: Growl
Hi Pako,
I think that this Plugin is great, thank you.
I've had also an idea, but i don't have the ability to do it...
is possible to create a plugin in order to receive the messages from growl and transform them as event?
In this way it would be possible to use growl as bridge between its plugin and eventghost.
One example would be:
1. send a message from my phone to pidgin (with msn)
2. pidgin has a plugin to visualize the message in growl
3. growl send the message to eventghost
4. eventghost create an event an something happen
...with specific words we can control the pc.

Re: Growl
But such a plugin already does exist. Even two.
One is the EventGhost display and the second EventGhost forwarder.
These plugins are installed (I think it's logical) in the program Growl.
Display installation:
1. Create the folder:
XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\{USER}\Local Settings\Application Data\Growl\2.0.0.0\Displays\EventGhost"
Vista or higher: "C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Local\Growl\2.0.0.0\Displays\EventGhost"
2. Copy the files from this package there.
Forwarder installation:
1. Create the folder:
XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\{USER}\Local Settings\Application Data\Growl\2.0.0.0\Forwarders\EventGhost Forwarder"
Vista or higher: "C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Local\Growl\2.0.0.0\Forwarders\EventGhost Forwarder"
2. Copy the files from this package there.
Assumed {USER} is your username.
There is even another similar plugin. Its name is EventGhost Snarl style.
Snarl is a program similar to Growl (I think better).
For less experienced users may be that he will see its setup too complicated.
Currently I am working on a Snarl plugin for EventGhost.

Re: Growl
Maybe it is some incompatibility (I assume so on the basis of a string name that is displayed in bold).
Maybe there is some character, with whom EG style has problems.
Can you please to determine (using a different style than EG) what Pidgin plugin sends?
And can you please try a different (than Pidgin) plugin with EG style?
I do not use Pidgin, so I can not try it.

Hi,
I've installed this plugin, but what format do I use for notification types? Can you give me an example please?

Re: Growl
Unfortunately I can not understand what format you have in mind.knobblywobbly wrote:I've installed this plugin, but what format do I use for notification types? Can you give me an example please?
Please can you explain in more detail what is not clear to you?
It is good to use screenshots or attach a configuration file and write what you want to achieve.
Although, I might already understand.
You do not need any format. It's just a name that you can design (which describes how it uses).
