NOOB - PC+Projector

Post by deaf666 »

Hello guys,
I'm kind of new to this program, but what i'm trying to do is like this.

I got one PC outputting some video to the projector (interactive projector).
So, what i want to do is, tell the PC to send a serial command to Turn ON or OFF the projector between a schedule that i will create.

I have been trying to understand how this software works but i'm getting any where, maybe my english is not good enought to understand or im just too dumb....

Anyway, its a really noob question, but if someone can give some advices on how to do it.

Projector Sanyo (PLC XP200L), i got the serial commands for the ON and OFF command. I'm using a USB to SERIAL adapter.
So how exacly should i start doing it?

Thanks Everyone. Sorry to be one more "noob" eehe

Load up the serial port plugin, configure it, then use "Write Data" action to send something to the serial port. I don't know what to send, but that piece of information should be in the projector's manual.

Thank You

I was already able to complete the program. But something strange is happening, i tested the serial cable with another device (video matrix) and i can control it via usb-serial, but when i try controlling a Sanyo Projector, seems like the projector is not receiving the execution commands.

( lets say the command should be "C01 [CR]" - To turn the projector off, but nothing....)
I'm sure the cable and the pin assignment are correct ( i already tested with a different device and worked....)

Well, i'm running out of ideas. Thanks People

Merry X'mas and Happy New Year.

I think that you are using the wrong format command.
Instead of "C01 [CR]" try this: "C01\x0D".
