Basic serial port question

If I send a command line over rs232 into the pc serial port can EventGhost trigger a media player event eg plays a particular song/video?

If you add the Serial Port plugin and enable Event Generation you'll get an event that you can use to trigger a track change or perhaps use in a Python script.
