Change action each press

I am not sure if this is possible, however, I have a USB volume knob that emulates the keyboard press + or - depending on the rotation. However I would like to change it so that each time it is rotated instead of pressing plus I would like it to emulate shift+ctrl+1, then as its rotated more then emulates shift+ctrl+2, up until shift+ctrl+8 then goes back to shift+ctrl+1. Or if rotated anti clockwise it would do it in reverse. Maybe a counter could be used to do this with a variable action however I'm not sure how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Maybe you can use "enable an item" and "disable an item" to reach your goal.

you can make 8 folder in which you can insert the event, the keyboard emulate shift+ctrl+*, and then disable the folder and enable the follow and so on. When you reach the last folder it enable the first and disable the others. Other 8 folder for the anti clockwise.

I'm sure it can be done smartly but this could be a solution.

Better yet, I think the action Exclusive enable a folder/macro,
or you can use Multitap plugin with "Single key" mode to generate several different events.
