I have developed a plugin that is able to send notifications using the "Notify My Android" API (https://www.notifymyandroid.com/api.jsp).
There is an app for Android which can receive these events, and even forward them to Tasker which is another automation app for Android.
Both these apps are available on market.
I borrowed pynma (https://github.com/uskr/pynma) to send the actual events.
You need an account before using this app, and you have to get an API-key from the website (https://www.notifymyandroid.com/account.jsp).
Press Generate key and add that to the plugin.
