Running EG on Multiple Computers

Post by johnsills1 »

I'm having trouble getting EG to work on 2 separate computers. I have a Remote Control program called iRule that I'm sending the udp commands from. I am having problems getting one of the computers to receive the commands. I'm using port 33339 for my Main computer and it works flawlesslly. When I try to send commands to the second computer using port 33330, it doesn't receive the commands. I know that EG uses UDP, so what could be the issue...... Any ideas?

Could be an issue with a software firewall, and in some cases, Anti-Virus programs can also run a firewall. Make sure you don't have any issues with that.
I would also recommend using something like putty to see if the traffic is coming through to figure out if it is an issue with the traffic coming in, or if it is coming in, and EG is not seeing it.

Google "putty" and/or "udp test tool" to get some software to sniff the traffic on the problem computer to see where the problem is.

Good luck.
