auvisio vrc1100 & xbmc2

Post by jimmyhart »

Hi all. I have XBMC set up on my computer with the TV as a second screen (where XBMC is used). I have a 1100 remote that works great with the custom button commands I've configured directly in XBMC via an xml.

However, if I want to do something on the monitor (screen 1) whilst my partner is watching stuff, the remote plays havoc as XBMC isn't in focus. I've read lots online that eventghost will be able to solve this, but I don't want to configure the different buttons and actions in EG, I would rather EG simply act as a very basic middle man by forwarding every remote button it sees straight to XBMC. That way I can keep everything working as configured within XBMC as normal, but EG just solving the focus problem.

Is there a way to do this, or do I have to configure each button within EG?

Not to worry, just realised how easy it is to add events and actions in EG, so I've just gone ahead and mapped all my buttons for XBMC in an hour! Great bit of kit. Still can't find PVR timer though, but looking at that (have PVR recorder screen working).

I have not done a proper update for the XBMC2 plugin for a long time just some quick bug fixes, so there are many (new) actions missing. I might be able to do a release that adds any missing actions but no guarantees when.

Ah, fair enough mate. I will leave it for now then, or just try and do it via sending a keystroke or something. It's not a biggie anyway.

The JSON-RPC action might be able to do what you want, it's more complicated to figure out, here is the commands it supports. As I have not looked into the PVR functionality I can't help too much, so you might need to ask in the XBMC JSON-RPC forum here. As long as I know the command(s) I can help you make it work in the XBMC2 plugin.

If you need XBMC specific help please post in the XBMC2 support thread.
