OS: Windows 10 Ver 1607, Build 14393.149
EG:0.4.1 r1722
Plugin(s): FS20-PCE, modified (FHZ1000PC)
external USB-Devices (FS20-PCE , FHZ1300PC)
My Windows-System is running as a Smarthome-Server, that means it runs nearly 24x7 with normally no user-login at a terminal.
The devices are connected proper, all nececary drivers installed, the plugins imported and configured and macros defined to handle events. All works fine, if EG is started after User-login.
The server is restarted nightly, and EG is be started as a background Task after system startup by the Windows task scheduler (including the neccessary rights). No events from the devices are forwarded to EG, the lamps of the receivers are off.
When I login via Remote Desktop, I see EG running. If I kill the background-task now, and start it manually, all works fine.
How can I get EG working proper when started as BG-task? Is there anything, I forgot to configure?

Re: Events not triggered when EG started from Task scheduler
eventghost has be run after a user logs in. it cannot be run from something like a task scheduler. because it relies so heavily on the windows GUI. so what you would have to do it to set windows so that there is no login prompt and it automatically logs a user in.

Re: Events not triggered when EG started from Task scheduler
I got EG running as kgschlosser advised - great
1. One thing remains obscure: The setting "Autostart Eventghost at system startup" seems not to work at Win10 Home. I untagged it and instead copied the link to EG into the AUTOSTART-folder, it is running!!
2. Is the text "Autostart Eventghost at system startup" correct? should it be renamed to "Start Eventghost at login"?
Thanks to kgschlosser

Re: Events not triggered when EG started from Task scheduler
that is a good point. never paid much attention to it.
I will issue a pull request against the source to fix the improper label for automatically starting EG
and that is strange that it doesn't work for windows 10. unfortunately my windows 10 machine is down at the moment so I am unable to test and correct the issue.
Thank You for the suggestion as well as the bug report. what version of EventGhost are you running if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Events not triggered when EG started from Task scheduler
the label has already been changed in EventGhost 0.5 beta 4 so we are all good there.
Later today i should have my windows 10 machine up and running again to see about the link not being made properly.
