MediaLab by Thermaltake

Post by TomXP411 »

Hi, all. I've been using EG for a while now, and I love it. Over time, I'm developing macros to completely automate my home theater system via my USB-UIRT.

Here's my question: I'm considering hooking up a front-panel display on my HTPC, a MediaLab unit from Thermaltake (my case has a special window for it). Here's a link

Does anybody have any experience with this device? Is it possible for me to somehow send commands to the display from Event Ghost? I have some big plans for this display, but only if EG can manage it. Otherwise, I'll leave that spot blank, since there really isn't much that'll fill that hole.

This looks like a re-branded iMon device. The remote will not work in EG, since iMon gives no SDK or documentation to do so. For the display there might be some third party programs but I'm not sure. And I never have heard that somebody has managed to access this display from EG directly.
Please post software-related questions in the forum - PMs will only be answered, if really private, thanks!

I also have a Thermaltake case with the window for the EFD.

There is an SDK for that out there, but I didn't take much time to look at it... but yes, the display can be programmed.

If I recall, the SDK had a C++ sample. I don't remember much about it, though.

a quick Google search for "iMon LCD SDK" turned up this: http://imonapi.tripod.com/index.htm

I almost went down that route myself, but decided to play with the web server (and my iPhone) instead. Now I can turn my system on and off (just the receiver or the receiver and TV) and fire up iTunes from the iPhone; once iTunes is running, I use the regular iTunes remote to actually control it.
