Please guys.

Use an adblocker for god sake, (I do not see any adds at all as we speak) and start focusing on Eventghost it self.
I couldnt care less about where I download or ask questions for EG. The only thing people wants is a stable EG that works
without to much workarounds! Please have focus on the EG software.

ok how about this. I have a possible solution to the whole disagreement in the open forum.

I propose to make a new thread. and this thread will be hidden from all except users that have posted more than 50 times. and have also logged in within the last 15 days.

and in a new thread visible to all we let people know of this hidden thread and there they can ask to be allowed to be included in the conversation that is taking place in this thread. and if that person is on the fringe of the 50 posts. or someone has more than 50 and hasn't logged in in less than 15 days. then we add them.

i believe someone that has more than 50 posts and logs in frequently has an active interest in EG and may have something that could be helpful to add to the conversation. but the new user or the person that just pops in and out really doesn't need to see this conversation.

just an idea.

What about trying to bring back one guy that have made more progress on EG in months, than we
have in a couple of years? If I had the power to do it, I would have done what ever it took to bring more
life into EG!

I do not care if this thread is deleted or not deleted. You guys should discuss whats best for EG`s future.

And kgschlosser, sorry if I am an idiot here. But I do not think that hiding anything is a good idea. To be honest, I do not think that a normal user
cares about this argument. The only thing they are looking for is a easy to use and stable software. If EG is not what they are looking for, they will continoue their search! Start thinking about the future and let the past just be what it was. I doesnt matter at all. What does matter is whats happening to EG`s future.

This is an open community project, everyone can help, everyone is welcome, no matter if they do a lot or less.
Everyone can leave or come back at any time.
It doesn't help to cry about people that left the project.
Nobody is contracted or paid.
People do whatever they like to.

And, there is NO leader!!

If you have an idea, make it real!
Share your idea with others, work on it and motivate others to help you.

So, what I'm trying to say is: Take the initiative and don't wait for others to do it.
Stop complaining and start acting.

I've been following this thread and thought I just post just to show my support for eventghost. I won't take any sides in the argument or anything, but I just hope you guys can work this out. I use eventghost daily and it has actually become a hobby of sorts. I hate to see anyone leave over this, eventho they are totally free to do so, I just feel that the community we have is not big enough yet to loose important people, like for example blackwind, pako or walter. Anyway, just showing my support.

Him, her, you... whoever.
I don't care.
Not just admin access... EVERYTHING.
Let me know how to transfer EVERYTHING EG.net related at GoDaddy from my account to somebody elses GoDaddy's account.
And I will.
Since you asked for a procedure, not saying you must, or with who

If there is only the EventGhost hosting defined as a product in your goDaddy account it is easy, if you have other hosting products this can't be done easely and not without downtime

If your account has only the EventGhost product

- you can change your username to something like: EventGhost (goDaddy uses the customer ID)
- set the password to something you don't use anywhere else, make it strong (I should already be)
- Remove any stored payment options (credit cards, paypal accounts,...)
- Check to remove all personal info (like address, email, ...)

- share the password with the new maintainer, so you both have access

If your account has other hosting products attached

I can't find that goDaddy allows for transference of a hosting product to another customer ID
The only way is then to move the Eventghost or personal hosting to a new hosting product on a new customer ID
If you need to move the EventGhost hosting to a new and separate account this means copying of the databases, transferring all files and adjusting domain DNS's

On a side-note you should consider sharing access, no-one is immortal; I had a friend, 28 years old, who one day told me he was going to be a dad. Two months later I visited his funeral. He died in a terrible motor accident, leaving his pregnant wife behind. Life is unpredictable that way.

Roger that...
I nearly died Sunday up in Michigan in a lake messing with a water pump. Power off. Bad Ground. Still hot. Couldn't move as my whole body was juiced. But I did. Burned a little hole in my arm. Still feel it in my back.

Side note... Bought lottery scratch off today.

Run this site without ads for the next 5 years

who is up for it? lets discuss
Yeah,
The ads in the EG website/forums have been hindering EG's functionality for YEARS!
I'm sick of them too.
lol

Priorities. I guess.
Re; Google AdSence @ EG.net...
No need for Eventghost to keep prostituting itself, it looks so unprofessional.
I repeat... lol

Not entirely sure who can change this, but I think it would be nice if the from address (and name) for the forum changed.

Right now it says that I got an email from iwilson7<at>eventghost.net but it would be far clearer if it said forum<at>eventghost.net or something :)
