Yeah, that. I didn't have the energy to look at as the other problem was too frustrating. And as I don't get that error I have no way to test it.

But try this test version I added an alternative setting when activating SSDP.

This is great, these kind of errors are easy to fix as long as they are reported.
As long as the basic detection of Kodi is working I'm happy.

Try this version it should show why you get this error and should not stop working because of it.

This is the error I get starting up with the latest couple of releases.
I've installed the update remotely but am not near the tv to have any control over it.

That's the missing "Ping" JSON-RPC Method, I'll be doing a better test function later that will hopefully show why you are missing it, as any JSON-RPC capable Kodi/XBMC should have it.

If the detection of Kodi is working I'll do some bigger redesign of some parts of the plugin that will hopefully make it more robust and also show better errors when there are problems. I was going to do that this week but the detection code was much more elusive than I could handle.

Yes a really stupid and totally idiotic error "_SSDP_IP" should be "SSDP_IP", I copied it from my test code and forgot to change it. This is why you need to show me the log.

Try this test version.

What is you computer running EventGhost? software and networking hardware, as the command I'm using should work I need to do some more research.

Edit: could you test without your firewall?

im using an old asus eee and windows xp, i really dont know the networking card inside the computer.

but your older versions of xbmc2 worked, the only problem was that kodi couldnt autoconnect to eventghost after a kodi shutdown, i needed to restart eventghost to get it working again,
