Good news: The error doesn't appear anymore! I didn't change anything at all. The last days I just used MediaMonkey by navigating by mouse and when I tried today again using my remote, there are no more erros. I don't understand why. But it's working now. But anyway, thanks for your efforts.

Cannot Get MM Plugin to Work Please Help

Hello.

I am unable to get EventGhost to function with lirc and MM. Probably I am doing something wrong.

OS: Vista x64 SP2
EG: EventGhost 0.3.7.r1462

I have irtrans, so I use lirc plugin. This seems to work, because the log shows, for example, "lirc play" when I press the "play" button on the remote.

I added MM plugin and copied "eventghost.vbs" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto"

I dragged "lirc play" from the Log to MediaMonkey/Main control of MediaMonkey/Play in the Configuration Tree. Then I saved the logfile.

I started MediaMonkey. Then I pressed "Play" on the remote and I got the following:
Lirc.play
Play
MediaMonkey: Play
Error in Action: "MediaMonkey: Play"

I found that was released a new version of MediaMonkey - 4.0.
New version of the plugin, compatible with MM 4.0, can be downloaded here.
Main configuration dialog of plugin has changed. Do not forget to make a new settings !
MMplugin.png
Attention: This new version no longer needs for its work the file EventGhost.vbs !!!

Hello Pako,

thank you for the updated MediaMonkey-plugin.

But I have one great problem after installing MM4 and the new plugin.
After every new start of EG, MM4 starts also automatically without any action.

What's wrong with my configuration?

Nothing, you do everything right.
If it bothers you, you can correct it as follows:
Disconnect.png
Disconnect.png (3.84 KiB) Viewed 6932 times
The reason why this is so, is this:
If a user works with MM, some events are generated in EG.
For it to work, must be a connection between MM and EG.
Just this connection is created at the start of EG.

There was another possible solution:
At the start of EG is tested whether MM runs.
When runs, EG creates a connection.
If MM not running, it must be at appropriate intervals to test again whether MM is running ...
I chose the first solution.

Hello Pako,

thank you very much. With this solution of my problem everything is ok.
My problem was, that the remote only works with MM, when MM is started.

Hello Pako,
could this connection between MM and EG also created at the start of MM?
I ask you because I have problems with your approach.

It depends on which way you run MM.
1) You are running MM manually (not using the action Start/Connect MediaMonkey).
In that case, you must run action Start/Connect MediaMonkey too (after MM launching).
2) You are launching MM using the action Start/Connect MediaMonkey. In this case you do not do anything else.

But what can I do, that EG not connect MM automatically at the start of EG?
MM should only start, when I want to hear my music ...
