Re: Multitap
I have removed the noinclude file, so the latest installer now includes the plugin.
Please post software-related questions in the forum - PMs will only be answered, if really private, thanks!

Re: Multitap
Hello Pako,
a question to the option "Use own OSD":
How can I create my own OSD, respectively how can I change the default OSD, because in my opinion the OSD from the Virtual Numpad - PlugIn looks more beautiful.
Don't get me wrong. It's not really a problem.

Re: Multitap
"Use own OSD" = turned on the OSD, which owns the plugin Multitap. I guess this is not the appropriate wording. It should be "Do not use the OSD" and function inversely. Own (= "mine") OSD can be used similar to picture: But it is not convenient for the SMS mode, because it does not see the menu keys.
Just now I came to a design flaw: the action "Back Space" does not return the content of the buffer. I have to fix.
Edit 22. 10. 2008 : fixed -> version 0.1.6

Re: Multitap
This plugin is awesome. Works great for getting SMS back in VMC. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I just do not know what it means to VMC.Tyborg wrote:This plugin is awesome. Works great for getting SMS back in VMC. Thank you!

Re: Multitap
sorry it refers to vista media center. My alternative method involved an autohotkey script and was a little convoluted.

Re: Multitap
Pako,
I am trying to get Triple tap functionality in Vista Media Center using a 3rd party remote receiver (USB-UIRT) and universal remote control (Harmony 880)
It looks like your Multitap plugin is a possible solution for me.
However, I am unable to get it working.
Here is are the details of my System:
Vista Home premium 32bit
USB-UIRT
Eventghost 0.3.6.1487
Harmony 880 universal remote
Can anyone confirm that this plugin is capable of doing what I am trying to do ?
And if it is can anyone give me a hand setting it up.
Thanks,
Kent

Re: Multitap
I believe the Multitap should work for you.
I can not help when I do not know what does not work.
I do not know how experienced a user you are.
Would you please attach your configuration file (. xml), where you try to use the Multitap?

Re: Multitap
Pako,
Thanks for the quick response.
Attached is my configuration file The only event I have configured for Multitap is "Emulate Keystrokes: 2"
I have also attached a screen shot of my Multitap settings I am a fairly advanced user of Vista Media Center but new to Eventghost.
When I use the SMS setting I get the digits to show up on the OSD but they are not passed to Vista.
I hope this is enough information for you to help me.
Thanks,
Kent

Re: Multitap
I am from your configuration unfortunately does not understand, what you expect from the plugin Multitap.
I will try to briefly write what is.
Multitap has three different modes of activity:
1) The mode SMS
Works as SMS on your mobile phone. You can use single button on the remote control to write different characters. The entire sequence of character must end with the event "Enter".
2) The mode Numpad
Using this mode you will able to write integer (for example number 100). It is not necessary to conclude with the event "Enter".
3) The mode Single
Using this mode you can use a single button on the remote control to generate an event from own list. It is not necessary to conclude with the event "Enter".
I put an example of the application to your configuration.
You only need to assign the events of your remote control USB-UIRT.

Re: Multitap
Pako,
I appreciate the help.
I am using Vista Media Center but do not have a Microsoft Remote Control and IR Receiver.
I am using eventghost to turn IR commands into Keystrokes and control Vista media Center that way.
The only problem is that I lose "triple tap" functionality using this method.
Triple Tap in Vista Media Center allows me to use the number keys to type letters for sorting, password entry etc.
For example:
"2" x 1 -> a
"2" x 3 -> c
"6" x 2 -> n
I saw Tyborg's note about Vista Media Center and it gave me hope this might work for me.
What is the intended purpose of this plugin ? Maybe I am confused and this is for another purpose entirely.
Thanks again for your time,
Kent

Re: Multitap
Oh, now I understand what you need.
I have modified my example in your configuration.
But there is one big problem. Unfortunately, it does not work. When testing, I discovered that the bug in the system-action "Emulate Keystrokes". This bug causes that can not be processed a string as {eg.event.payload}.
We will have to wait until the author corrects it. I will be immediately reported this bug.

Re: Multitap
A workaround could be to replace "Emulate Keystrokes: {eg.event.payload}" with this python command:
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<EventGhost Version="1487">
<Action>
EventGhost.PythonCommand(u'for c in eg.event.payload : eg.plugins.Window.SendKeys(c, True)')
</Action>
</EventGhost>- Pako

Re: Multitap
Yes, this is a good idea. This way you can bypass the bug.
