Also, I removed the line:

where you checked for the version number, and that fixed the problem.

With those two changes, the SVN is pretty much up to date.

Now I guess we just have to see if anyone else has an RCA DVD remote that generates extra codes, like TITLE MENU, etc., or if someone has the Chinese knock-off DVD remote dongles with a different Vendor ID.

So, I grabbed another universal remote that I had laying around and programmed it to emulate an RCA DVD player (which is what the Xbox Original DVD Dongle responds to).

It recognized the following additional codes in DVD mode:

006d100 < (left arrow? very common among RCA remotes, but not sure what button it's "supposed" to be)
006890a LAST
006c000 MUTE (Very common among RCA remotes)
006e70a A*B  
006f90a EXIT
0067f0a D
0068c0a REC

With many of these buttons, it's not clear what button they are supposed to map to on an RCA DVD remote.

I should be clear though that the "<" and "MUTE" buttons showed up on EVERY RCA remote I had listed, even for VCRs, so they are very likely to show up on many universal remotes.

The other buttons are of more dubious utility, however, the purpose of enumerating them here is that, if they are common enough to show up on a universal remote set as an RCA DVD player, and my Xbox dongle receives them, then they are more likely to show up on someone else's remote, and that person can then make use of them in EventGhost even if their actual xbox remote doesn't support them.

I also found MANY MANY more RCA codes when setting it up as an RCA VCR, including the "<" and "MUTE" keys mentioned above.

I did not list any of these, because I think they are less likely to show up on someone's remote when programmed to control the xbox dongle. However, they were actually received by my dongle, so they may work.

Is this plugin at all useful for an original xbox controller (not the DVD kit) with the XBCD drivers connected via a soldered USB cable? I plan to give it a shot, but thought I'd clarify.

I am trying to use EventGhost + XBMC and get the following error: Error finding an Xbox IR receiver
I have the following Xbox Remote Control: USB\VID_040B&PID_6521&MI_00\6&369CCEE4&0&0000
(China copy of original Xbox remote control)
Is there a compatible XBCDRC plug-in for that remote?

Try changing the following values near line 727 of EventGhost\plugins\XBCDRC\__init__.py

to

        self.vendorString = 'Vendor ID 1035'
        self.productID = 25889

It looks for a device with vid 1118 and pid 664 by default (that's the original microsoft one).
